The 7.Fallschirm-Jäger-Division was formed in September 1944 near Venlofrom Fallschirm-Jäger-Division Erdmann.The regiments of the new division did not change their designations until11.25.44, and they operated initially with their old names.

In January, 1945, the division fought in the region of northern Alsacebefore being transfered north, where it later capitulated toBritish forces in the Oldenburg area, in May 1945.
