History and Campaigns:

    The 157th Gebirgsjager Division was created in January, 1944 from the 157thReserve Infantry Division. The Division fought in both the Western Alps andin Italy for the duration ofits combat life as the 157th Gebirgs, and in 1945, the Division was renamedas the 8th Gibirgsjager Division.
