This division was ordered formed on 9.24.44, but the formation was cancelledon 10.15.44. Fallschirm-Luftnachrichten-Abteilung 10 formed for the planneddivision was instead transferred to the Heer on 1.02.45.

The division was reformed in the Graz area on 3.01.45. The division was formedfrom many various units. Each Fallschirm-Jäger-Regiment and Artillerie-Regimentof the 1.Fallschirm-Jäger-Division and 4.Fallschirm-Jäger-Division in Italy, gave up anbattalion for the new division. These had all arrived in Graz by 4.08.45 (9trainloads).

On 4.17.45 the division had a strength of 10700 men.

The units were divided between Graz and Luftgau XI. Served under XXIV.AK/Pz.AOK.1in May 1945, with parts in reserve under PzAOK.6. The main parts of the divisionsurrendered shortly after formation to the Russians in Iglau.
