Fate

Anniliated in Pillau by the Soviets in late April 1945. Shattered remnants made a desperate final stand on the harbor mole jutting into the Baltic Sea.

Organization

In January of 1943 Grenadier-Regiment 277 was destroyed in the seige and encirclement of Velikiye Luki.The remnants not lost in this battle were reorganized into Grenadier-Regiment 257 and in February Grenadier-Regiment 547 formerly of the 328.Infanterie-Division wasabsorbed.

In February of 1944 Grenadier-Regiment 547 was removed from the Division

Grenadier-Regiment 412 formerly of the 227.Infanterie-Division was absorbed a short time after Grenadier-Regiment 257 was lost in the siege of Graudenz.
