Sturmpanzer-Abt.217 Formed on 7 Apr 44 as independent Heerestruppen with three Sturmpz.Kp. Transferred to the Western Front in Jul 44. Ordered to Pz.A.O.K.6 on 16 Dec 44. Sturmpanzer Pz 218 Ordered to be formed by 20 Aug 44 using StuG Brig.914. Only the 2.Kp was formed (on 16 Aug 44). 2.Kp. was sent to the Western Front in late Aug 44. Ordered to be formed on 6 Jan 45 with Stab and three Kp. using Sturmpz.Kp.z.b.V. 218 and 2./Sturmpz.Abt.218. On 24 Apr 45 converted to a Pz.Jg.Verband.
