|14.Infanterie-Division (mot) by Jason Pipes|
The 14.Infanterie-Division (mot.) was formed on October 15th, 1940, from the 14.Infanterie-Division.
In the Winter of 1942-43, the 14.Infanterie-Division (mot.) began the process of reforming into a new division, the 14.Panzergrenadier-Division, but the conversion did not take place and in the Summer of 1943 the 14.Infanterie-Division (mot.) instead reverted back to the 14.Infanterie-Division.
Infanterie-Regiment 101 was originally a part of the 14.Infanterie-Division. When the 14th was reformed as the 14.Infanterie-Division (mot.) in October of 1940 Infanterie-Regiment 101 was transfered to the 18.Panzer-Division. Infanterie-Regiment 101 became Schutzen-Regiment 101 when it was sent to the 18.Panzer-Division.
