History
The 8. Armee was established on 1 August 1939 and fought in the Polish Campaign from 1 September 1939 to 20 September 1939. On 20 October 1939 it was re-organized as Armee-Oberkommando 2 and was assigned to the Western Front.
The 8. Armee was re-established on 22 August 1943 from Armee-Abteilung Kempf. They fought entirely in the East and on the southern setors. The 8. Armee was in existence for 706 days of which 626 were spent fighting in the East.
