1.Marine-Infanterie-Division
History The 1.Marine-Infanterie-Division was formed in February of 1945 in Stettin from Marine-Schützen-Brigade Nord. For some reason, the division has different designations in various documents: The 1.Marine-Schützen-Division in the Schematische Kriegsgliederung, the 1.Marine-Division in the Feldpostübersicht, and the 1.Marine-Infanterie-Division in the despatches sent from the division to Kriegsmarine HQ. The correct designation for this unit is 1.Marine-Infanterie-Division. The 1.Marine-Infanterie-Division was organised like a normal Heer division of the "neuer Art 45" type.
