Formed on 12 Oct 37 with two Abt. of three Kp. each as independent
Heerestruppen. The regiment was expanded to eight Kp. on 10 Nov 38.
Mobilized with two Abt. each with two light and one med Kp. and assigned
to 1.lei.Div on 1 Aug 39. Assigned to 6.Pz.Div. on 18 Oct 39. 4. And 8.Kp.
formed from elements of the disbanded Pz.Abt.65 on 3 Jun 42. I.Abt.
converted to Panther Abt. with four Kp. on 5 May 43. I.Abt. was sent to
Eastern Front as an independent unit in 1944 and initially attached to
8.Pz.Div. I.Abt. returned to the regiment on 15 Dec 44.
