History

The 4.(Preußisches) Infanterie-Regiment was formed in 1921.
With the establishment of the Wehrmacht in October of 1934, the 4.(Preußisches) Infanterie-Regiment's
I. and III.Bataillon were used as the basis of Infanterie-Regiment 25, originally known as Infanterie-Regiment Stargard,
of the 2.Infanterie-Division. It's II.Bataillon and Ausbildung-Bataillon were used to help form
Infanterie-Regiment 4, originally known as Infanterie-Regiment Kolberg, also of the 2.Infanterie-Division.
