History

This division was ordered formed on 9.24.44 (with FJR.22, 23, and 24), butthe formation was cancelled on 10.15.44 and FJR.23 went to the 2.Fallschirm-Jäger-Division, and theFallschirm-Luftnachrichten-Abteilung was transferred to the Heer on 1.02.45.

The division was reformed in January 1945, at Köln-Wahn from variousad-hoc units. The division was refreshed on 3.15.45 at Wesel, by order ofOberbefehlshaber West. The division fought in the defense of the Reichswaldand opposed the British Rhine crossing at Rees, and later surrendered in theRuhr-pocket.
